2011: Spring | Summer | Fall | Winter
Dear Triathletes,
Forward, the newsletter of Fast Forward Triathlon, is a quarterly e-publication that includes timely and relevant articles for the multisport endurance athlete. Each issue will be packed with information that you can apply immediately to your training, recovery, and racing. Four columns are a consistent presence in Forward:
- In the Sports Physiology Review we will discuss a pertinent sports physiology topic—selected to coincide with the type of training that you are doing (or should be doing). We’ll tell you why to do it, when to do it, and how to do it. Some of these reviews will integrate with the CompuTrainer Chronicles and include a downloadable CompuTrainer workout file that is designed for the current periodization phase.
- The Nutrition column we will explore this infinitely mesmerizing topic for triathletes, focusing alternately on topics related to fueling, recovery, hydration, electrolytes or in-competition nutrition.
- The Gear Review will also our third course and standard fare (hehe, we’re thinking about food). One of our coaches or athletes will describe their experience with the training or racing equipment thoroughly tested by the Fast Forward Triathlon Pro Development Team presented by Inside-Out Sports. An ongoing component of our Gear Review section is the CompuTrainer Chronicles in which one of our Pro Development athletes discusses how they used the CompuTrainer to prepare for a recent race. As previously noted, in conjunction with this article we will publish a CompuTrainer workout that integrates the concepts described in the Sports Physiology Review.
- Finally, while we have your ear, in FFT News & Announcements, we will tell you about our athletes’ race results, new sponsors and partnerships, and other miscellaneous (yet newsworthy) developments .
We sincerely hope Forward helps you succeed in your workouts and races, and that you find athletic bliss. If you have as much fun reading Forward as we do writing it, that bliss is close at hand.
Happy training and let the (nerdy-jock) insight begin!
