About

FFT is a leading triathlon, cycling, and endurance sports coaching organization for individuals and teams nationwide. Operating from hubs in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and Madison, Wisconsin, FFT partners with local elite-athlete coaches to combine their hard-earned experience and knowledge with a high-yield, periodized and scientific training system that has proven time and time again to produce results.

FFT’s mission is simple: to make you fast.

Our program is scientific and periodized, built on a foundation of elite athletic experience and academic knowledge. Armed with an understanding of sports physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, and aerodynamics, and equipped with the experience to apply that knowledge, we generate success. Our racing experience is not limited to professional triathlon. Because we have elite racing experience in each component sport, we have a “breadth-upon-depth” knowledge-base to optimize your multisport performance. Add a decade of coaching in competitive performance-driven team environments and that makes FFT second-to-none in facilitating the fulfillment of your potential.

FFT utilizes a network of elite-athlete coaches who lead by example

We believe that great coaching stems from a love of athletics combined with great people skills and knowledge. For us, that knowledge must be informed by experience. It is mandatory that our coaches are seasoned elite athletes-coaching is an art as well as a science. There are simply too many nuances, complexities, and subtleties that cannot be learned from sitting in a weekend clinic or reading a book; true insight can only be gained by doing, failing, and succeeding. We’ve been there; we know what it takes.

Bottom line: FFT athletes perform when it counts. Athletes consistently improve more in one season with us than through years of training on their own or with other coaching programs.

Most athletes drop the better part of an hour off their time in their first season with FFT. And these athletes aren’t novices; they range from upper-level age groupers to professionals. The balanced training plan makes FFT athletes faster at any distance from sprint to Ironman.

Onward to 2013

We’re just a month away from race season! This is the worst time of the year for me. Everything is so close, but still so far away. Racing is just a few weeks away, but there are still plenty of painful workouts before then. The weather is trending in a positive direction, but there are [...]

Balance

By Erika Erickson As an athlete, I struggle a lot with finding and maintaining balance in my training.  This isn’t so shocking, because I struggle with finding balance also as a grad student, a friend, a daughter, a sibling, a roommate, a significant other, a…well, you get the idea – it’s hard to balance all [...]

My Top 7 Training Tools

Often friends and training partners ask me what products and tools I use for training and recovery, so I thought I would share my list of favorites. These are all tools that I find most essential to training, racing, and recovering (other than my bike, running shoes and swim goggles!) I wanted this list to be [...]

Greater Expectations – Goals for 2013 Season

From the time we’re in grade-school until we’re settled in our 20′s – some of us, even in our 30′s – we’re told that setting goals is a key, if not the key, to achieving what we want in life. Some people are better at setting goals than others. That is, they either knowingly or [...]
